It is becoming more and more popular to hold festivals to celebrate different foodstuffs and beverages.
There are, in fact, several bespoke coffee festivals, such as the Coffee Festival in Bath, which are dedicated completely to the caffeine elixir.
As reported in the Crewe Chronicle, the Nantwich Food and Drink Festival have been rather successful recently and they had some special bespoke Coffee Awards too.
This event was an addition to the Food and Drink Festival which took place in September and was called the Taste of Nantwich.
Obviously, the locals have strong feelings about their food and drink and wanted to celebrate the local coffee culture.
The Coffee Awards were presented at Crewe Hall.
How were the winners of the awards decided upon?
The organisers of the Nantwich festival invited the locals to vote for their preferred coffee shop, by visiting their website.
This means that it really is a people?s choice as to who wins the award. Some 300 locals made a nomination.
So who won?
The people of Nantwich voted for the Nantwich Book Shop and Coffee House in the top slot.
The winning team was awarded with a bespoke plate.
It was encouraging that there were many independent coffee shops in the list of nominations, such as Ginger and Pickles, Molly?s Tea Shoppe and Chatwins.
Those attending the event were also offered coffee and mince pies to celebrate the festive season.
If you had to nominate your favourite coffee shop in your area, do you know which one you?d pick?
