The reports of Dwight Howard's visits with free agent suitors and of the various factors in his highly anticipated decision have gotten so numerous that an NFL reporter has gotten in on the action. ESPN's NFL reporter Adam Schefter delivered perhaps the most important tidbit of the week on Thursday, tweeting that the 2013 edition of the "Dwightmare" could end on Friday.

Dwight Howard hopes to make his decision by Friday. Decision, per source, is "totally up in air."
The teams in the mix have made their pitches and Howard reportedly went to Colorado to weigh his options. Will he stay with the Lakers? Will a surprise team swoop in? Or will one of the Texas teams reel in Howard?
Here's some of the latest buzz that has been swirling around the most coveted free agent of the summer.
- According to Brian Windhorst and Marc Stein of ESPN.com, the Golden State Warriors have become "increasingly convinced they have a legitimate shot" at signing Howard. Per the report, they're even trying to trade away players to create cap space.
- Citing two people with knowledge of the situation, USA Today reported that the Houston Rockets are trying to reel in Howard and Josh Smith.
- Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld tweeted that Howard and Jose Calderon are "interested in playing together" and that Calderon might not sign until Howard makes a decision.
- The Lakers are bracing for the worst and might reconsider sign-and-trade options if Howard decides to leave, Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.com reports.
- Hawks general manager told ESPN's Shelley Smith that the team's meeting with Dwight Howard "went well."
- Chris Broussard of ESPN tweeted that a "source close to Howard" told him that Kobe Bryant's reported pitch about teaching him how to win will be a "complete turnoff" to Dwight.
- Rockets general manager Daryl Morey tweeted a Dwight Howard recruiting video.
UPDATE, 4:09 p.m.: Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports tweeted on Friday that Golden State has dropped out of the Dwight sweepstakes after reaching an agreement with Andre Iguodala.

Golden State drops out of the Dwight Howard chase, clearing the way for long-standing frontrunner Houston to close with the free agent star.
UPDATE #2, 4:21 p.m.: Wojnarowski later tweeted that Golden State might still be in play for Howard.
Adrian Wojnarowski
Warriors still working to make moves, so my suggestion they're out of play with Dwight Howard is premature. They have tentacles everywhere.
