WhatsApp for Windows Phone just got a major update over the weekend, bringing a ton of much-needed improvements to the popular cross-platform messaging app.
The new update now has support for Windows Phone background agents, and there?s the ability to voice-call contacts from within a chat, though it?s a normal phone call and not a VoIP call. There?s also supposed to be a fix for notification problems but judging from the various folks complaining about push notifications on the Windows Phone Store, it hasnt really worked out for everyone.
And lastly, there?s support for WhatsApp?s new emoticons. All in all, definitely an update that you should check out. Available free right over at the Windows Phone Store.
